Place the image in res >
Drawable and then modify activity-main.xml.
Note: Its shown in red because
andriod doesn’t allow alphabets in caps.

How to change an Andriod App icon?
Select the Project View
Right Click on the app folder>New->Image Asset
In the pop up that appears select the the new logo you would
like to have(image/clip art/text).
That is it! You have a new logo for you app now.
